Anyone change their cabin filter in a 98-02 accord?
Honda's 60k service includes oil change and replacing the cabin filter and tons of "checks" for only $520. No way i'll do it myself lol. So i'm guessing replacing the cabin filter is a pain in the *** to change? Any suggestions/tips highly appreciated!

I recently changed the cabin filter in my EP3, and it was a piece of cake.
All I had to do was drop the glovebox lid off its hinges, and the cartridges were easy to fit into the airbox behind the glovebox.
It seems to me that the Accord should be similarly easy, since you have a relatively modern Accord.
I know this isn't much help to you because you will still ahve to look at the Accord manual...but I hope it at least gives you hope for getting it done.

There's a few pieces of the dash you'll need to remove in order to change the cabin filter. Off the top of my head, glove box, lower passenger dash trim, glove box reinforcement. I recommend getting at least a Haynes manual.
Here's an article with photos and step by step pictures.

Best of luck I hope this helps you.

Consider getting a Haynes manual as mentioned above, besides telling you how to change this it'll tell you how to do a lot of other stuff.
I changed the cabin filter at 30,000 miles in my '99 LX. It's not a *hard* job, just a pain in the butt, particularly the last step where you have to remove the filter from around some metal bars. Took maybe 30 or 45 minutes to do if I remember right. When I did finally get it out, it wasn't even noticably dirty which led me to skip the 60,000 interval and I'll change it again at 90,000 miles.
Can you do it yourself without much experience? Sure, but don't expect it to be a real quick job. I highly recommend doing it, it'll teach you how that part of your dash goes together plus you'll save some money.
