Default Most popular profile tyres for EG

Im going to buy a rim and tyre package for my EG (EH9) sedan and need to find out what tyre sizes most people get when they want profiles. This is because i am taking price, availability, value for money(amount of rubber), performance and looks into consideration. I will be getting g3 potenzas.

For 15"s, are the 205/50/15s the most popular size?
Which should i choose between 205/50/15, 225/50/15 and 205/55/15?

How about 16"s, are the 205/55/16s the most popular size?
Which should i choose between 205/45/16, 205/50/16, 225/50/16, 205/55/16 and 215/55/16?

most popular tire sizes for eg's i'd say is:
15's = 195/50/15 or 205/50/15
16's = 205/45/16 or 215/40/16

I thought so. Looks like im gonna go with the 205/50/15s. They seem to be pretty well recommended in g3s.
They wont make the overall wheels look too small for my 4dr will they?

Ok, ive pretty much decided on the 205/50/15 tyres with 15" rims. Thanks to all!

One last question; do new 205/55/15s have more tread than new 205/50/15s?

The reason why im asking is that the other day i went to the tyre place and grabbed a 17" new nakang and it looked and felt like it had less tread than the new 15" bs g3. Am i mistaken?

Becareful with the 215/45/16 tires. I had some zenis in that size on my hatch with an H&R sport drop and it rubbed fairly often.

Thats definately part of my decision making. My friend got a new set of 17" chromies and scraped them shortly after. He was running 215/45/17s.

So is it true that 15" tyres have more tread depth than 16" tyres?
