I went semi-offroading in the R on gravel roads with ZylexSNL last year, I don't know if that really counts though. One way or the other, it was loads of slidey out-of-control fun

Be careful man. I took my WRX rallycrossing on that "half tarmac half dirt" type thing....yeah, paint not soo good anymore.
"Dirt" has plenty of little rocks and pebbles that WILL mess up your paint.
It's your car, but my suggestion would be to cover your car in tape.
other than that you should have a blast, it is tons of fun.

Worrying about paint chips = m'eh. Paint chips, scratches, and rubber stains are signs of a well and properly used vehicle
Paint chips are inevitable, period. If you care about the paint, tape her up and if you can get a sheet of cheap flexible plastic, zip tie it along the bottom of your car.. seems ridiculous but trust me on that one. "Its just dirt" may be true but then again... its dirt. Have fun!
I have done the dirt portion in numerous cars, as far as FF, the only thing I woudl recommned apart from taping the car is to
Tape down the handbrake button, that way you can just pull it up and down, also adjust it for proper tightness.
