Hello all. As dumb as this may sound.... I changed my tranny fluid to OEM Honda MTF today. I filled it in the fill hole until it dribbled out and cleaned up and called it a day.

When I turned my vehicle on i noticed the MAINT REQ light was flashing. I did;nt think the two were even correlated with each other. Can anyone shed some light on this? I thank you in advance.

EDIT:BTW, it sounds like the tranny was shifting louder than before. I did'nt drive it, I was in my garage pondering how any body can expletive up changing tranny fluid going through the gears and it just seemed louder than before.

 

The maintenance light flashes when scheduled maintenance is near. If it stays on solid then you're past rec'd miles.

If you're sitting still in a garage, you'd hear the definite "clack clack" of shifting better than when you're in a moving vehicle, in any case.
