Default 92 Accord Tranny

What type of Tranny fluid do I use for this car (Automatic), also how many Qts. do I use. Most of all: Is it really important to use the HONDA Tranny fluid, or is it just to give them money?

There have been a few questions about Honda ATF.... simply put - yes. You really really should use the Honda fluid. It is different than anything else, and just works better, I can't explain why. On the positive side, if you choose to use something else, like Dexron III.... it will not HARM or DAMAGE the transmission in any way. It will however cause harsher shifts and just an overall too firm feeling in the shifts.

Drain and fill the trans (via the drainplug) - You will need between 2.5 and 3 qts. Use the dipstick, and get it to the "full" mark with the engine off and the vehicle level.

OK, Thanks. More questions. On the amount of fluid to use, I am replacing the tranny tomorrow. Do I still use only 2.5 Qts?

Also, there are two(2) each "input""output" listed. Which seals are used in this tranny. One is thin and one is a little thicker.
