Default WOOOOW!! I WHIPPED ON A TYPE R LAST NIGHT!!

well as the topic says...i beat my friends 99 type R last night....he's all stock, and so am i! but i had slicks on because of the power difference, i also have a 9 pound flywheel!.....wow i never knew slicks would make that much of a difference! it was my first time driving with slicks!...i let off at 6k and jumped like 2 cars ahead right off the line! i know its bad for my car but just did it to see how much it would help!..but yeah! i only beat him by a car..he was creapin up fast on third! but in the end i was still ahead!...ahah just got bord and just wanted to post something because its been a few days since i have.

There's your problem right there. 1999 ITR? Yeah, only if your friend imported one.

People are reporting this, but there's really no indication that it was on a public road.

who said it was a street race? nobody said anything about that. and most people like to save money by going to midnight drags or whatnot. as for whether or not it's a Type-R, maybe it's just that this guy doesn't own it so he doesn't remember what year it is. i don't remember what years my friends' cars are, i just know what generation/body style/model. i would believe that slicks on a GSR would make it run with a Type-R with a good driver. in my experience LSD is worth around half a second in the 1/4 for a good driver, sometimes more depending on engine. that's just for smaller 4-cylinder cars. larger engines get more out of it. a good GSR driver should be low 15's, + LSD it should be mid- to high- 14's, right around what an ITR would run with an average driver (not a good one though).

i really don't understand why you guys are all bashing on this guy.

The ITR is not made for dragracing. It would eat your GSR up on the roadrace track.

But, I don't know about where you live but it's very common to see street cars on slicks going out for a race where I live. Most street racers that don't do it because fast and furious said it was cool run around on slicks. Kinda hard to make any money when you're playing catch up all the time.
