Rules: Datsun 510 w/ SR20 and Ford 9" what class?
I'm currently getting ready to build my 71 Datsun 510 w/ an SR20, but I really would like to put a Ford 9" rear end on the car. I currently don't have a rule book on me. I was just wondering if the 9" would hinder me from competing? I'm guessing that the SR20 would be fine since it's from the same manufacturer, but the rear end is my question.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Have you seen the Mckinney Motorsports (down in the SD area) 510 they were building a few years back? It was basically finished. Wonder if their car would be a good platform to start from.

What class are you trying to run in??? maybe that would help answer question a little bit if we knew that.
I think if you are gonna narrow the rear and tub the car out then you might be in in MODIFIED or PRO OUTLAW. if you are going for the new street tire classs that Nopi is putting together, then i think you may be illegal due to the fact that you have to use a stock manufactured rear.I would suggest maybe using a rear from nissan truck.

10 bolt...as in the 7.5"...if so..um...LOL at how weak they are
you might have been thinking 12 bolt....since that's the natural upgrade on teh LSx cars from the stock rear...some go to a fabbed 9" too
but, if you really want a diff rear end...and wanna go on a budget, can't beat a ford 8.8.

out of his 68 camero and put it in there.....but at the last minute he backed out.
so i just wound up putting some hydraulics on it.....dam i wish i had that car back.
