Painting Helmets....
i've heard that helmets can crack if the wrong paint is used or something like that.
is there a special process or can I just take some, lets say Krylon, and just spray away?

It might make future cracks in the helmet shell harder to see though. Probably not a good idea to put stickers on your helmet though. Sanding and painting should be ok, i'd take it to a body shop? Anyone else?

Find people who paint Motorcycles, they are more versed in painting small jobs like a gas tank, or helmet..

I'd highly recommend using a primer. I've done some paint work on fiberglass jetskis and helmets. Just sanding it, the paint still chips pretty easily. So, I'd sand, prime, sand, prime it a few times to level off any surface scratches or discontinuities. On the jetskis, we used Imron clearcoat. It's a bit of a pain to work with, but it provides a very clear finish that is really thick. I want to say it's something like 1 or 2mm per coat, which is quite a bit when you think about it. Just take your time and let each layer dry so they bond properly to each layer underneath and you should have a good finish when you are done.
