i have an 89 drag hatch. i relocated the battery in the back and i run an autozone battery. 12v, no problem. its the same battery that is actually for the car.
awsome... anyone else running non oem batteries?
i was wondering if you could get away with running a high power alternator and no battery at all.... just jump start it with cables all the time?
i still need to get the NHRA rulebook to find out what i can and can't do, so i just want to see what other people are running

I am running a no name gel cell. It is tiny as hell. If i leave the car set for 3 days it will not start. Pain in the ***, I bought it used so it could be shot.

i run basically the no-name version of the nrg/odessy/etc battery.
just thought that i'd mention that running a smaller battery is an easy, cheap form weight reduction that is extremely overlooked by MANY people. anyone thinking about it, go for it!

I have a Baker Racing Battery in my Car and the Del Sol I built for SFWD has a Odessy.
Edit: Found a pic of the car in progress, sorry it is dark but you can see the battery.

in my 92 hatch i use a pepboys battery.
in my 91 hatch i use a baker precision battery.
The baker one is lightweight and is a huge space saver especially for the ED/EF engine bay. Here is a link to the baker precision battery page with details about their batteries:
