Default The Car is Completely Ready!

After a month of what seems like non-stop working on the car in preperation for next weekends SCCA time trial event the car is finally ready after a wash today. Things I have done to prepare over the last 4 weeks:

- New brake rotors
- New Cobalt Spec VR front pads
- Removed brake dust shields
- Rebuilt brake calipers
- Mounted timing transponder clip in front grill
- Removed SRS system
- Installed Sparco Ring steering wheel w/spacer
- Change oil/filter
- Got a tetanus shot
- Purchased a set of arm restraints
- Bleed brake fluid
- Purchased a set of Toyo RA1s
- New power steering belt
- New alternator belt

Anyway, you get the idea. I really enjoy going over the car in preparation for an event - I think it really gives you confidence on the track when you know you are the one that did the work.

The big event is next weekend. Wish me luck - I'm going to need it!
I'll be sure to post up a full review with a ton of photos.

Good luck dude

Only question: arm restraints? I thought that was only required for open-top cars.

In SCCA time trials all cars must either have window nets or arm restraints. I was at the track last with driving with the arm restraints and it was a bit odd at first, but they were quickly forgotten.

Ah, interesting. I'm assuming you chose that over a window net maybe because you don't have a full cage at this point? One way or the other, could you snap some pics some time, I'd be interested in seeing how they're mounted.

Haha, I know that feeling. My weekend is done, I have to go to my wife's niece's birthday party tomorrow in Wisconsin ... Maybe I'll get drunk and inappropriate, so I'm not invited back next year.

Nope. Maybe after a couple guys die of tetanus after car crashes it'll become a requirement

NASA TT rules are pretty much the same as HPDE.
