can i install a ctr hydro lsd and diff in to my b16 y1 cable tranny? i search and could not find a real answer. i know the y1 had the optional lsd but i didnt get it and now i want it, and i have a ctr lsd and diff, and i am getting ready to drop the swap back into the rex and would like to do this soon. if i cant do it what would you recomend for a lsd for my cable tranny. thanks

 

no you would need a ys1 case and gears, or ctr gears, the final drives wont match up bolt wise and you would need the shaft(the one that intermeshes with the final) from that final, the jdm ones have a larger gear at the bottom

not sure about the final drive ring gears from an Integra LS hydro tranny. However I've heard of people making this LSD's fit in the early B-series cable tranny. The biggest thing is using a ring gear from an Integra (not too sure about the B16 hydro in the Si's) hydro tranny, but since your Y1 is a 4.266 final drive, you need a matching ring gear with the larger bolt pattern ideally from a 94+ Integra hydro transmission. But again I'm not sure about the 4.266 ring gears. Remember the B16 differential ring gear bolt pattern is different from the 94+ GSR's. I don't know though about the 94+ LS's

I swapped an ITR LSD in my wifes YS1 tranny and had to use an 94+ GSR ring gear.

 

that ring gear worked because you already had a 4.4 final, but the JDM finals are different and mesh with a larger gear on the shaft so you would need that shaft as well and it wont fit in a y1 case as far as i know

 

so then is there a lsd that i can install in my y1 or should i buy a new tranny with lsd aready?
