I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 03 CIVIC SI THAT HAS BEEN TOTALED IN THE PASSENGER SIDE. CAR RUNS AND DRIVE BUT I WANT TO PUT IN SOMETHING LIGHTER. WAS WANTIN A 90-93 INT CAUSE I SPENT MOST OF THE MONEY ON THE SI AND CANT AFFORD A 94-01 TO PUT IT IN. IS THERE ANYWHERE THAT HAS MOUNT ADAPTERS FOR THE 90-93?

honestly, you might wanna rethink that, the SI comes with a k20a3 thats 160 bhp "just a better stock motor than the b18b" it would be alot better for you to drop a b18c in a DA. Just my .02

Why would you put it in a DA if you wanted it to be light? The EG/EF chassi is much lighter than any DA.

Oh, and h22a is right. For the money, a k20a3 isn't a good swap. Sure, it's a K series.. But you can get a b16a2 (99-00 Si motor) and you'll be getting the same amount of power.

Get a k20a2 (RSX Type S) motor and you'll be throwing down some good power at the wheels.

ls,gsr, and itrs get to that level all the time.....but how long will it last? and what yal people are failing to understand is the k20a3s dont have the normal intake and exhasut 3 lobe vtec system. the the rsx-s and the tsx, and the new si have it, but the k20a3 the non-tsx k24's have a system similar to the vtec-e system which at 2500rps the engine goes from working one valve to working both and the exhaust doesnt change profile. im pretty sure i have errors in this post that i will correct tomarrow.

guys, you have to remember, he already has the motor so buying a new one would be pointless.

Your fastest and cheapest option would be to put it in a CRX, they are cheap, light, and hasport makes mount kits, axles, etc for a k-series swap into them.

This is true. Hasport also makes K-series swap mounts for the 88-91 Civic, 92-95 Civic, 94-01 Integra, and the 96-00 Civic.

i know there are several other lighter cars out there to put it in but i was just wanting to be a little different. but because of price and availability of parts for this project i probably wont go this route. i did happen to just run across an 89 civic si with a locked up motor. i think im gonna jump on the deal of $400 b/c i know there is a world of parts for it. thanks guys for the feedback.

i saw a post on here awhile ago, some company came out with cams for the k20a3.

i believe it was something like a 20 hp gain from just the cams alone.

yeah it would be awsome to see, but i just thought that it would be a waste if he dropped a k20a3 when he could drop a b16 or a b18c and still have ac/ps on stock mounts on top of that. If he was dropping a k20a/a2, then that would be another story
