I think the dxes are the ones without badges on the back? Is it dpfi or mpfi? If it's mpfi and has a clock and sunroof, it'd be a si, no clock, no crx door panels, and mpfi + slow is hf.

How to tell what model your CRX is: (to the best of my knowledge)

HF: MPFI 1.5L D15B7 engine code
No sunroof
No rear hatch windshield wiper

DX: DPFI 1.5L
No sunroof,
Rear hatch windshield wiper

SI: MPFI 1.6L D16A6 engine code
Sunroof not moonroof
Rear hatch windshield wiper

90-91 SI have disc brakes in the back
90-91 Crx's have thinner side moldings and have air dams in the front bumper on each side and also you can tell if it's a 90-91 to see if the corner lights have no 2 holes visible for install of them 90-91 also have different taillights with a 1" dark tint around the lip of the whole tailight assembly

88-89 Crx's have thicker side moldings and have no air dams on the front bumper and have 2 visible prevision holes on the corner lights

I can go on and on with fun facts!

It's dpfi if it has a black injector thing that says dpfi on it. I think the mpfi is silvery and pretty and says mpfi.

Look at the manifold!

If it has two injectors it's a Dual Point.
If there are four injectors right before the head, it's a multipoint.

DPFI have a funny lookin circle cover above the intake manifold and the runers I believe point towards the middle? Get a SI ecu, complete intake manifold and splice in wires shouldn't be too hard?

find where you intake filter is. its a large black plastic box near your passanger headlight in the engine bay. trace that large black tube that connects to the air filter the the middle of the engine bay. there will either be a large black piece that says DPFI, or a silver plenum that had a badge that says MPFI.

Also the 90-91 SI has the seat belts on the door while the 88-89 has them in the car....dont know if that helps at all....just a random fact that I found out while comparing my friends 91 SI and my old 88 SI
