yea you either get a tach with a shift light and hook the vtec wire too the tach light....or you get a msd rpm switch activator and hook it up too that....

no then youd be shifting while it kicks in. that wont do... rpm switch will do. the first thing you need to do is know what ecu you have. the rpm switch works but not very well because fuel curve is not change when its activated.

i would buy an obd1 computer (p28) and a obd0 to obd1 conversions harness from rywire. then youd be set

ok thanks, but i told u i cant find any vtec ecu, how can i know its a vtec ecu? my ecu is for 1.6 16 valve sohc engin, manual tranny, so there's no way to work that vtec in my d15b on a non-vtec ecu! ppl said i can make a manual vtec botton inside the interior! plz i want my vtec, i had very good plans for my car, i already bought 4-2-1 chrom headers, and a cold air intake, and short shifter, and performance chip!
performance sparkplugs wires, and performance ground wires (should i get these or they wont make any difference)?

if you stay obd0, the only vtec ecu's are pwo or pr3....but if you convert you car too obd1 i'd recommend a p28 ecu...the only bad thing about the pwo or pr3 ecu's are they are for a b16....and if you miss gear, it can be dangerous for your motor....but either one would work fine...they both cost the same....

just to be on the safe side, I would go over everything, make sure and determine what you have if its OBD-0 or OBD-1? But from reading your post your ECU plugs are two, which means your still at OBD-0.

A good Vtec controler would be nice or just like the previous posters mentioned will work too....

well you can go with just about any Vtec controler, all it does is just sets it when to kick in. But if you want to have a nice tuning functionality, I would go with the VFac, it also controls fuel and air ratio. A Spoon Vtec controler is nice too. Many Vtec controler have diffrent options you can set them up to, If you are unseure have a shop connect it for you and have them tune it, after that you can mess around with it....(in a controled enviorment ofcource.

I dont think the OBD-0 ECU (stock one you have) will NOT WORK, since its not programmed correctly (you can either get a OBD-O or OBD-1 Ecu that has the fuel curve/fuel maps, Vtec etc programmed. Or you can have that one chipped re-programmed to run all that stuff.

Dude. Get a p28 manual tranny ecu OR a P08 manual tranny ecu and a obd0 to obd1 conversion harness. Run the wires to the vtec solenoid. Problem solved. You can find the ecu in the classifieds or on ebay. Hmotorsonline.com probably has the p08 ecu too. Just keep it simple for now.

You could also get a p06 and convert it to vtec and chip it but that's more work that seems like it might be out of your league.

p28 = Civic SI/EX ecu
p08 is the ecu that is actually made for that motor.
