Default Tany & Oil pump

Alright I am at the point of:

Blow it up
or
Sell it

All the people who listened to my honda said too many different options as to the knock. Well low a behold its the oil pump that is going that is making the knock. God I miss my hearing..

Secondly with a new throw out bearing and cluch pad, the darn trany wont go into any gear without turning off the motor first (to put it into first or second gear) then shifting by RPMs to up and down shift due to the transmission is wacked. It wont go into reverse at all without jamming the hell out of it.

was shifting just fine before replacing the clutch parts. I know simple fix just readjust the links, but still I have to pull it all out again to do the oil pump. My car has seen more time on the rack then on the road. This bites.

F22A4 changed to F22A6 is the only main under hood mod done. Front suspension rebuild (all polly bushings and new ball joints). Still got some tweeks to do if I do keep it.

I know they are simple to work on just sick of pulling it out and in, in and out. At this rate and time I could have built a mutt motor or done 8 H22 swaps. But then again that is Imports for you. Picky as all get up. Pickier then any Female I know of or even heard of. But that is a good thing, something that is pushier then a woman But a hell of a lot smarter then those TYPICAL MALES

Going to put this on hold for awhile and do my Deville and Truck. If I don't cool off first then I will just have fun blowing the thing up and kick myself later for it. That is if the Kids don't send me over the edge first.

Well the cool off helped, but adjusting the shifter cables didn't.

So time to tear down the trany shift link area. From what I can see someone never put the plug back on that open tube (via honda images I have found it should have one). So lord knows what got into my trany, but then again had it in the alignment shop not too long ago (acouple of months back). And they said that they checked the oil and topped it off as it was 1/4 qt low. (scratches head and kicks self for not checking things over when I picked it up) as it was there before, just not now.

alls well that ends (not so well). I can look at it this way, make it a winter project and I can properly detail the engine bay. Got to get the sunny side up on these things sometimes.

i have not heard of many honda oil pumps going out before...are you positive that is the cause of the "knock"?
as for the plug on the tranny, i have a few cars that do not have that on and have been driving for years with no problems....

Oh boy.

The oil pump failing is the biggest killer of Honda engines.

Whatever so far this board has given me more junk the advice and help

Sad the other model car forums that I am signed up with is more friendly and professional then this KIDDY board (opens myself up for flames and dont care)

If I wanted junk I would ask my kids who dont know anything about cars or the local repair shop who thinks they know what they are doing. Bunch of text book no background wanabies

Seems like the people with the real answers dont give a damn and let the junk mouths run this place.

Your clutch problem is either one of two things
1) Insufficient clutch travel. Make sure there's no air in the clutch hydraulic system
or
2) Defective Clutch Pressure plate (not releaseing fully, causing the clutch disc to be carried along, not allowing a shift.)
Quite common on "questionable" aftermarket clutch kits

I Beg Your Pardon. I don't view my efforts at informed guidance as words from a "junk mouth"
All I ask is that I'm able to pick out the question from all the ^&%*$ talk.

P_Adams

The junk is not dirrected to those who give good honest advice from pure know how and/or knowledge.

Its dirrected towards the dont know anything jerk offs that think they know crap and talk out their *****.

And yes there are a load of BS JUNK post here cause people are way way way too lazy to do a search or look at a manual first.
