Default Rear caliper covers

Does any one know for sure if its ok to drive with out your caliper covers. I was just wondering if anyone does one of mine broke and was rattling so I had to take it off. It looks like just a dust and junk guard. Is it neccary. Yes I used the search feature but I only saw the one thread and wanted to know what you guys thought.

It's fine to remove the dust shield. Many people remove them from the front and rear of their cars.

In some cases, it helps more air get to the rotor and cool it. One downfall is that you may see more dust on the wheels. Shouldn't be problem in the rear though.
