USDM VS. CDM Alterntors???
ok.. i know came cross a problem with the wire issue with my alternator
i checked the engine harness plugs it tells me USDM 4 wires/CDM 3 wires
so now this is what i need to know
the alternator i have is the 3 wires design and the plugs i have has 4 wires..
USDM
1. Blk/YEL
2. WHT/GRN
3. WHT/BLU
4. WHT/RED
CDM
1. WHT/RED
2. BLK/YEL
3. WHT/BLU
so basically what i did was i wired them up to the CDM spec and left WHT/GRN alone on the side...
now car starts fine.. it charges the battery as well but my dash lite for the battery stays on, how do i kill it?
i found out that the WHT/GRN i left is ALTC(Alternator control) which sends alternator control signal out... if i switch it from WHT/BLU to WHT/GRN would the problem be fixed? i do not want to mess with my wires even i already did.. but i am hoping someone who knows this can help me out
thanks a lot

Some one correct me if I am wrong. The USDM integra alternator uses 4 phases (diode) to provide current/voltage. It is more durable and the supplied current is cleaner than the typical 3 phases alternator. If you use only a 3 phase, it will work but since the last phase is not connected, it is throwing an error.

i have no idea but for the fact someone has done it before but i couldn't find the post now one thing it says on my troubleshooting plug C sheet it shows WHT/GRN is Alternaotr control which sends the control signal and thats the one i left it behind.. i am just wondering if i switch it with the WHT/BLUE which i have it connected now.. would this solve my problem? i do not have the wiring diagram so i have no idea what each wire does

Well according to my diagrams, the white/green wire is only on 94-95 cars, and it goes to the ECU. The white/blue wire goes to both the integrated control unit, the ABS control unit, and also the charging system dashboard light and the underhood fusebox. I can tell you for sure that you cannot disconnect the white/blue wire and not have problems.
I would suggest getting the correct alternator for the car and not trying to rig something up and hoping it works.
*edit* are you saying the car's harness has 3 wires and the alternator has 4 wires, or does the car have 4 wires and the alternator have 3 wires?

Car 4 wires.. alternator 3 wires
Yeah and for the fact that is already working.. thats why i am just wondering if i swap the WHT/BLU to WHT/GRN would it clear my dashboard battery light?
i checked the Volt and everything.. car is charging fine.. i even disconnected the battery while the car is running and alternator seems to operates fine.. thats why i would like to know if someone can give me an exact answer..
thanks again

Would it be possible if you have the 2000 wiring diagram
99ITR intalled in 00' LS bay
thanks

My wiring diagram says that 96-up doesn't even have a white/green wire.</TD></TR></TABLE>
99 ITR didn't make it in the states but it sure did in Canada
and for some reason the 99 wiring is the same spec as USDM one's..
i am not even sure why there is a CDM & USDM for this stupid plug..
anyways...
WHT/GRN = sends alternator control signal
WHT/BLU= ----??? what does it do actually? no one knows?
