b18a1 swap into 90 dx hatch, DPFI to MPFI converion
I have a 90 civic hatch dx and my dad just wrecked his 92 integra in the rear, so I am going to be swapping the b18a1 from that into my hatch. My question is should I use the integra wiring harness or would it be easier to use the stock dx wiring harness and convert to MPFI? Is there any write ups on this conversion? I already have the motor pulled and im just tryin to figure out what would be best, thanks .

You HAVE to modify the DX stuff, including the engine harness, the Teg harness may look like it fits but its wired completely wrong....consider that the donor harnes for connectors....

Only way to go
have fun with that dpfi to mpfi conversion.

ok so I have to stick with the dx harness and use the teg harness just for parts like injector clips and wires? again is there a write up anywhere?
i know there are a couple write ups online... i searched google a year ago when i did my first dpfi to mpfi conversion.. its simple actually.... just a few wires to run, and to wire up a resistor box... its not that bad.. and def.. use your stock dx harness..

http://www.rywire.com will do the job, and save ya some money,a nd about 6 white hairs. so check them out.
Ok nevermind, I found out all the info I needed and decided to go ahead and do it myself... just need to do a few small things tommorw and we'll see if she starts up and runs good
Good luck! Give us a call at Rywire if you get stuck or have any codes you aren't sure how to troubleshoot, we'll help ya out!
******* sick man, im doin the same swap in my 91 dx, except i bought mine as a shell and now im searching for a dx harness.... the only thing i need and the motor can go in hahaha hell yeah man let us know how it runs bro good luck
yeahh me and lshatchie(chris) got the motor in last night. Wiring is not yet complete all we gotta do is the wiring to the resistor box, and wiring for the injectors. Cant wait till she is running..
motor is in and everything completed ( wiring, vacuum lines, clutch ect.).. still need to put in axels, finish custom shift linkage and exhaust...
the only problem is that fuel isnt getting to the fuel rail, no fuel in fuel line either... same problem before motor was swapped... you can hear the fuel pump prime, hopefully its just the fuel filter clogged any ideas?

are you sure the pump is actually pumping fuel? Try the filter first however...if its original its likely overdue to be changed anyway.

is there any other tests that I can do to see if the fuel pump is working? I just did what my haynes manuel said to do.. open up the gas filler and listen for a whirr noise after you turn the key, and you do hear it...
its definatly a problem with the fuel system because we sprayed starter fluid in the intake manifold and it started right up and dies once it uses it all and there is no fuel in the line to the fuel rail...
before we did the swap it had the same problem, we would pour fuel in the d15's manifold and it would start up and run till it used it all then die .. car ran fine up until 2 weeks ago when I tried to start it once morning and this happened

Have you put the fuel line that feeds the filter into a jar and had someone watch when you turn the key on....you should see fuel....if you are not you have #1 a bad fuel pump, or #2 a clogged tank pickup.
If you have lots of fuel into the jar then you have a clogged filter.

No I havent tried that, I think it has to be the fuel pump, I cant imagine the lines or filter getting that clogged up.. but today im going to change the filter and see what happens..

well you will see if the pickup sock filter is clogged when you pull the pump in the tank.
either way you will know.
OH, one thing that comes to mind...follow the fuel line from tank to firewall....make sure someone didn't crush it flat with a floor jack.

pull your rear seat bottom..see if you can access it that way..I think you can do it from inside the car....but thats just a guess, I've never actually done it before on this car.

yeah we have the bottom of the rear seat out right now and I see it and ive never tried to take it out because I read somewhere that you have to drop the fuel tank
