Sticky gas guage and no warning light
Did a search and didn't come up with much...
In a period of about 3 tank fulls (month or so) I went from the gas gauge not going all the way back up when full (but its accurate going down) to most recently I almost got stranded when the dummy light didn't go off. I know there is a sending unit, but my question is does the dummy light rely on the same sending unit? With the sticky guage I thought it was just that, the guage. But with the warning light not working I'm thinking it may be the sending unit. I read that there's a fuse too for the dummy light so I'll check that.
Let me know, I'm assuming there's a way to diagnose it as well. Unfortunately I'm not on my computer with my Helm's PDF's (and its a pain in the ***).
Oh yeah 96 Accord EX!
**** while I'm at it: I discovered I have a leaky upper balljoint on the pass front, haven't heard or felt anything from it. Does it merit immediate replacement?

Ive had the same problem for over 2 years now in my 95'. The needle doesnt go to the F anymore and I'll be on E for awhile and still have 5 gallons left. I plan on replacing the sending unit, if I cant see anything visually wrong with it.
as for the upper balljoint. replace when you have time. The lowerball joint is what you should worry about.

The sending unit is just a float inside the tank that varies the resistance as the fuel level changes. The dummy light should run off the same system. Honda's haven't always been the most accurate when it comes to fuel level, so I personally go by the tripometer....
