fresh fluids all around, wash and wax, make sure vents are open, windows a slight crack, toss an air freshener in there, sit the car on cinder blocks to ease suspension, throw a tarp over it.

make sure your gas tank is completely full to avoid water condensation in the tank.

as for putting it on cinder blocks; it's not a must...it's done more to keep dead spots from appearing on the tires (which really isn't much of a concern with modern tires), but I guess it can't hurt.

you don't really have to worry about your gas getting water in it. i had a car that sat for 2 years with half a tank and i tested a small sample of the gas when i went to drive it again and it tested PERFECT, just like the day it was pumped.

as for putting it on blocks or jack stands, DO IT. you WILL need new tires if you don't. it's about the only thing that really needs to be done other than maybe disconnecting the battery. also, when you go to drive again, disconnect the dizzy and fuel pump so the engine won't run and crank it for 20 seconds. look for the "low oil pressure" light to go out. if it doesn't, wait 20 seconds and crank it for another 20 seconds. rinse and repeat until the oil dummy light goes out. once it does, reconnect the plugs and fire her up.

the ''dizzy''????? is it ok to take the plugs out and leave them out completely?? I'm throwing new plugs in in the summer anyways, and doing a lot of work on it through the winter while it sits, so the cover won't be necessary, as for the tires, they'll prolly just come off because come summer i'll be throwing on the 17's....should i drain the oil/tranny/break fluids?

no don't drain out the fluids, but you might want to flush and refill the coolant if it hasn't been done recently. wouldn't want your engine corroding on you.

not true anymore really, that was more for old muscle cars with tires 20 years ago. Tires today, don't have the same tendacies to deform and lose shape getting flat spots that the old tires did....just have to keep the air pressure up.

but like I said, it couldn't hurt

well i don't know about other people but this has happened to me w/ my 240. there were old tires on the car, and it was left to it sit for ~6 months. when i bought it and started driving it again, the whole car shook at anything over like 40mph. i had the tires balanced, but no dice. so i had newer used tires put on and balanced and voila. solved. now there's just a little bit of shake in the steering wheel, probably due to really old, worn out ball joints or something.
