>>wiring strobes to the bass...?<<
does anyone know of a simple way to wire a strobe light so that it goes to the bass signal? i know they sell full kits to do this in a car, but im trying to do it in my basement for a party... thanks.
would that work though? cuz as far as i know, the current coming through a speaker wire is much different than the one that would go through a power cord into a light fixture...

You're somewhat correct. Light fixture is AC, but your car is DC. Speaker level outputs will power lights, such as LEDs, small bulbs, etc... However, depending on what kind of lights you're trying to power, you may have to put resistor(s) inline to drop the voltage.
If you're trying to power a 12v led or something, the amplifier will put out more than 12v at high volumes and pop the LEDs.
But if you're talking about a normal "strobe" light, it's not gonna work because actual strobes require significantly more power to fire. That's why they usually have some sort of power supply attached to them. They need to have the 12v in your car stepped up to a voltage that will fire the strobe...
Need more info on what you're trying to hook up.

thia has nothing to do with a car. i have a regular strobe light that plugs into the wall. i am trying to wire the strobe light so that it goes to the music. im trying to set it up for a halloween party. if it cant be done real simply, then just tell me so i dont try to figure out a way. the light i have is a simple, on/off switch on the back, with a AC wall plug. i have a regular surround sound system with a separate subwoofer and 5 surround speakers. im not a techno genius, nor is this going to be permanent, so im not solderinga anything, or buying any capacitors, resistors, transformers, pulverizors, time machines, etc... i just need to know if it can be done simply. thanks.

Not to be a dink, but if you had said in your first post that you had a regular indoor strobe light, we might have given you a more concise answer.
Now that we know exactly what you've got and what you're trying to accomplish, we can help better.
So to answer your question, no, it can't be done real simply.
