Heater doesn't work
i got the same problem my ac works good as hell but when i turn the heater on only cold air comes out. i checked the valve and its open but still nothing. i hope i can get it fixed cause the mornings are getting cold over here!!!!!!!!
Number one, make sure that the temp control **** is actually switching the door in the blower assembly and not just spinning on it's post. There will be a little white bellcrank on the passenger side where the console meets floor toward the firewall. Make sure you are getting full actuation. If this is not the problem you probably have a plugged heater core. You can frequently clear this by removing the inlet and outlet hoses and and blowing water through it backwards and then alternate back and forth through the inlet and outlet until it flows freely. If you have a plug in the core it's a good indication that you need to flush the rest of the cooling system as well.
i opened the valve from under the hood and still the same no hot air my friend never used the heater cause where he is from it never really gets cold enough to use the heater i dont know how long it has been since its been used

Your talking about the coolant bypass valve. Some people post the opposite problem of no cold air but their compressor is running. The temp control **** stripping out is a very common problem. I hear the dealers sell 4 or 5 a day. If this isn't the problem you probably have a plugged core.
definitely check thermo (or look and make sure your temp guage rises like it should),
Also feel your heater core hoses going to the firewall and make sure that BOTH of them are hot, someone correct me here but I believe there is always coolant running through the heater core. You control temperature by choosing how much cool outside air mixes with the hot heater core air through the console ****.
