Default DA: 9004 to 9005 conversion..

there was a page w/ pictures that someone had on how to do this. on what wires to switch around and how to shave the plastic bulb housing/headlight housing to make these fit.

i want brighter light w/o going HID's..

im finally ready to do this because my 20 dollar silverstar just burnt out before my passanger side did also if anyone knows any lights that are brighter than silverstars that wont get me pulled over, please let me know.. because the light output on the 9004's sucks ***..

thanx guys for your help

Don't you mean 9004 to 9007? They are similar in style.

9005 is a single filament 51W bulb, used in 3G Integra projector low beams and tons of other cars w/ separate low/hi beams.

yeah since 9007 is 55/65W, and have axial filaments I believe (better).

9004 is the dimmest headlight on the market (only 700 lumens low beam), and have transverse filaments (crappy, similar to H3 bulbs).

ive done i but it was in my one-peices that i modded to take the 9004/7 light because i didnt get he harnesses for them. i dont know all that goes into to modding them for the usdm housings, but this is the guide that i used...i just didnt splice the wires i just pulled the wires with the connections and just moved them. (kinda like what you can do to the ecu plugs) http://g2ic.com/forums/showthr...=9007

because the one i remembered had you shave a tab or two off of the headlight housing to make the light fit.. then getting the power wire and ground wire switched around, i think... the thread also had good clear close up pictures with read writing captions on the pictures explaining the proceedure.

here ya go, you dont need to cut and splice you can pop the wires out of the plugs, kinda what like ppl who do swaps do. i just pulled the wires and they popped out and i switched them around.

Went to auto zone to se the price for these,

There cheap, $20 a peice, $40 for the two.
That's a good price for this type of upgrade, I believe.

Would I be able to upgrade the Foglights as well, I know there birght, but... lol

I heard people saying it was like $70 for the bulbs.

Other than the Bulbs I dont need to buy anything correct?

nope just the 9007's and swap the wires around like in the pics, if you dont your low beams will be your high beams and vice versa.

well guys i just got back from running around to the new super target, walmart for the bulbs, etc...

did the swap.. and tried to aim the lights but forgot exactly what to do. i think i remember it being 25' from a wall, aim to your knee's.. but its so hard to aim these lights since there is no cut off line like hid's/projectors... so i think i did the best i could. well i thought i did, on my way home, i had a few people flashing brights at me. so i flashed mine back, and they thought my normal lights were bright, they got a punch in the face when i flashed them my brights with this new conversion...

but with the headlights, should they both be aimed straight in front of each headlight or towards the middle of the car. also what would be the best method to make sure the lights are aimed correctly.

another thing is, you know on the plastic ring that locks the lights into place? well some sort of spacer fell out/off of it and now i cant find it.. it locks the light in the housing so it wont fall out, but there is play in the bulb housing now.. its not snug like the other side. any method to fix this, or anyone have an extra piece like that off a junk car or something i can have/buy?

but i know my lights arent aimed too high up because with my car parked a good distance away with the headlights on aiming at a wall, i have to get down on my knee's and bend down some more just to have the light hit me directly in my face... so idk what all the fuss was with other drivers flashing me the brights...

yeah dude, it turned out great. i just need to figure out a more efficent way of aiming the headlights because it looks like they're all angled over eachother and a little bit high

like right up to the wall, 2-3 feet away and adjust? how did you aim them, with them facing right infront of the car or aimed down a bit? also did you have them angled towards the middle of the car or just straight out infront of the headlight..
