Default 2006 RSX Type-S vs 2006 Civic Si

which one is better? I'm planning to buy a new car, and i have my eyes on these 2 cars.....so i was wondering which one do u guys suggest me to get.

RSX Type-S is a renowned car. it got good reviews from all the car magazines and its also in Car and Driver's Top 10 car list every year.....but the design is getting old now....on the other hand 2006 Civic Si is new.......has a new design, which looks pretty impressive. Power wise, both of em have abt the same amount of power. but i was just wonedring which one has better performance. I know the performance of the RSX, but i was wondering if any of u can give me some performance numbers on the 06 Civic Si. and let me know which car do u guys prefer more. I plan to get a new car very soon, so do u guys think its wise to get the RSX Type-S now or just wait few more months and get the the Civic Si?

Thanks in advance for ur replies.

if i was in your shoes - i'd mob the SI, u get way more for the money

both cars are great but the SI has an LSD and a fresh new body make over which i really like. most people would disagree with the new styling but that is always the case with new redesigns. i like my rsx but i know a good car when i see one.

i'd trade but knowing that the RSX is being phased off the assembly line i'll stick with it.

lol, i'd stick with the type S, like modulo said. It's being taken off the market..buy it, RARELY drive it..THEN BOOM you get more than what you bought the car for when you sell it in 5 yrs with low mileage! A rare car's value ALWAYS stay at top price....just look at the supra..WOW $30K for a 70XXX mile car...worth it?? YES, every penny....

The RSX will not hold its value like the Supra. No way. You are a fool if you believe that.

The 06 Si offers almost everything the RSX-S offers, and more. The only two things it doesn't have are leather seats and automatic climate control.

Actually Acura's hold their value quite well. I'm glad I purchased the RSX over the SI. Type-S all the way!!

That's crazy! The RSX is a great car, but there are way to many of them to be worth as much the as a good Supra is now.

Exactly!

I would go with the Si, who wants leather in a sports car anyway. Not to mention the cheaper price and the LSD. Honda's keep their value pretty well also.

I would go with Si.
If you examine the new Si carefully, you will see that it has far better value of money than RSX-S. Heck, if I have to buy a beater, I would get it. Go with Si.

i work at thompson honda and we just got our 06 civic coupes on this past week. if the upgrade on the ex is anything like the upgraded si it will be incredible. i dont know if acura offers navi on the integ but its an option for the ex/si and its incredible. i would purchase the navi just because it will help the car on resale. the new coupe si is definitely gonna be a steal @ around 21-22 w/ navi. si hands down

Limited slip would make a HUGE difference. Look at tons of other sports cars in that price range, Sentra SE-R Spec V, SRT-4, limited slip on them! Also if you look at all the comparison tests for those price range sports cars the mags will usually always dis out the same things. i.e. Struts and no limited slip. It sucks that the Si is quite a bit slower in some aspects but I would still kick it because they are so cool.

And there are reasons that Supras sell for so much, and it has to do a lot with things that the RSX doesn't have. RWD, 6 cylinder capable of producin BUTTloads of power, and they actually look cool. Haha.

The SI all the way hands down!

It MATCHES the RSX type S, nearly feature for feature.

197HP, 6spd, LSD! Navigation!, nice seats...

The only thing the RSX Type S has is just the nicer leather seats...

RSX's are gettin' old... out with the old, in with the new...

lol, read lately?? I said since the RSX Type-S is not going to be produced anymore, i am sure it will be a pretty hard car to come by in 5 yrs of when ever they stop producing it. EI i was comparing to it like the supra, you dummy. A harder car to find it will sell for a little bit more.

I bought a Type-S because I liked the looks of the car better. If I don't care for the look of the car then I don't care how it performs because I would hate it. If looks didn't bother me I would have gotten an SRT-4.

As far as performance, I'm sure it will be a toss-up. I'm waiting to see reviews on the new SI. I don't like the new interior dash design on the Civic's though. I went and looked at them and they are weird.

as of right now, the price will probably be the same comparing the two cuz of the extra money they add on to new cars to sell, and the RsX will have a lower price near the end of the year

Well IMO I'd go for the Type S...the Si is really nice though, but I've been wanting a Type S since probably 02-03. I like the style of the Type S, the Si to me is a little bulky..but it's still nice. If you want something new, go for the 06 Si, but if you are an Integra person, go for the Type S. I'm an Integra person so I'd go for the Type S, but it's your car and your choice

Yes, and you even get an extra 150lbs in the 06 Si!!! lol.

Navi in a Civic...that's funny. What's even funnier is that it's an option in the Ex.
