i'm thinking Anti Lock Brakes? which is usually "ABS".. so i don't really know.

in canada they titled the prelude with an SRV badge (for the vtec models) so maybe the 92 (no vtec stock in CDM or USDM) was just SR with no V.

OR maybe they could be talking about having Anti-Lock Brakes and Supplemental Restraint (system). I belive the SRS made its prelude debut in '92.

as for the 4200RPM tach jump: does the motor pull all the way through? or are you saying the needle gets stuck for a moment at 4200? (does it get stuck on the way back down?)

if its pulling but the tach itself is having problems, it might be an electrical problem within your gauge cluster..

hesitating? search.. there's an H22 hesitation thread you could check out

electrical? search too. i'm sure you wouldn't be the first person with that issue.

just my guesses, hope that helps.

Could it be an SR Prelude from Canada? Alb, as in Alberta, Canada?

Maybe the previous owner brought it from Canada and swapped a USDM (mph) guage into it?

Which could explain a cluster problem, i.e. - your tach

My 92 Si is a USDM model for sure and it also comes up on carfax as a si alb/sr. I think it means anti-lock brakes and supplmental restraint (airbag).
