Default HELP!!!!ESTIMATE ON GOING AT 2 MT????WHATS A GOOD PRICE?

IM A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT AND IM TRYING TO NOT GET RAPED IN THE BOOTY HOLE BY SHOPS BUT HERES THE TOPIC IM PUTTING AN H22 ON MY CIVIC AND I ALSO WANT TO CHANGE IT FROM AUTOMATIC TO THE 5 SPEED TRANNY. SO WHATS A GOOD PRICE AND IS AN ENGINE WITH 50K MILES ON IT STILL GOOD??? PLEASE HELP!! I ALREADY HAVE A QUOTE FROM THE SHOP I GO TO... FOR 4500 FOR EVERYTHING DONE!!!

1st.....don't use all CAPS!

2nd....an engine alone costs about $2200 for a H22 longblock with tranny.

That doesn't include installation or converting the car to manual tranny. With all the other install parts needs and labor involved, $4500 is a good price, as long as that includes everything.

YEAH...its all included but will a 50000 mile engine be good in the long run??

50000 miles on a honda is nothing. you should be more concerned on what kinda driving was done in the 50000 miles. should easily last another 150k

Yep...its a Honda....

I would just go a full maintence on it, like:

-oil change
-new timing belt
-valve adjustment
-new rear main oil seal
-new lower front oil seal
-new camshaft seals
-new valve cover seal
-all new drive belts
-new tranny fluid
-new spark plugs
-new cap and rotor

Should be good for many miles to come.

what am i lokking to hit on the track with the car stripped on the interior... and w/ the h22? the shop says that if anything ever does go wrong that they'll handle it no matter what... ive been going to this shop for over three years...
