HELP!!!!ESTIMATE ON GOING AT 2 MT????WHATS A GOOD PRICE?
IM A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT AND IM TRYING TO NOT GET RAPED IN THE BOOTY HOLE BY SHOPS BUT HERES THE TOPIC IM PUTTING AN H22 ON MY CIVIC AND I ALSO WANT TO CHANGE IT FROM AUTOMATIC TO THE 5 SPEED TRANNY. SO WHATS A GOOD PRICE AND IS AN ENGINE WITH 50K MILES ON IT STILL GOOD??? PLEASE HELP!! I ALREADY HAVE A QUOTE FROM THE SHOP I GO TO... FOR 4500 FOR EVERYTHING DONE!!!
1st.....don't use all CAPS!
2nd....an engine alone costs about $2200 for a H22 longblock with tranny.
That doesn't include installation or converting the car to manual tranny. With all the other install parts needs and labor involved, $4500 is a good price, as long as that includes everything.

Yep...its a Honda....
I would just go a full maintence on it, like:
-oil change
-new timing belt
-valve adjustment
-new rear main oil seal
-new lower front oil seal
-new camshaft seals
-new valve cover seal
-all new drive belts
-new tranny fluid
-new spark plugs
-new cap and rotor
Should be good for many miles to come.
