i'm working on something & need to know the size of the shifter opening (where the shift boot sits). also, where can i get the silver ring that is on the shifter?

I'm thinking a ruler would be good in this situation. And I'm sure Honda or Acura sells the trim ring depending on which car you want it for.

 

well i dont actually own a honda, i own an mr2 & i'm working on a little project... so i figured one of you guys could help me out . i need an opening of 3.5-4 inches... also i want to know how the silver ring is held in? btw - i'm talking about the boot opening & shifter boot ring from 03-05 civic si.
