Tires for 15"
I have a 89 civic hatch, and i just got 15X6.5 rims, and i was wondering what size tire would you guys recommend? I do plan on lowering my car in the future. I was thinking 195/??/15 but i want to get a second opinion. Thanx..
PSHT 195...get that crap out of here. Suck my DX I am so disappointed you would suggest such a worthless size.
Most people around here run a 205/50/15 in fact I will never run anything but that ever again. And they will fit perfect on your rims.
We have CRX's that are low and have no rubbing issues with 205's don't be scared. That is also what all EF road course cars run. I am lowered and have NO RUBBING issues.

195/50's are the correct diameter for your gearing and speedometer. if you go with the 205, it'll change your gearing a little bit and make your accelleration a little slower, but barely noticible as long as you're not running a d15b2 or something.
205 is a deathtrap with wet weather. So I'd have to say it depends on where you're from, and what brand tires you run.
Most ppl using the 205's run falkens, wich have a nice hard wall... moth general brand tires SUCK with a soft wall.

I made up my mind about the size but now i don't know what brand tire i should get. I am looking for good performance tire with good wet traction since i am going to be driving in the snow. Thanx for any input in advance.

Why are 205's a deathtrap in wet weather?

If you are going to be driving in the snow, I would get a dedicated snow rim/tire set. I plan on running 205/50/15 in the summer and 195/50/15 in the winter. Narrower tires are much better at cutting through the snow, especially on light cars such as ours.
Get Bridgestone Potenza S03's in 195/50/15 these tires are awesome and usually on sale in this size at tirerack.com for cheap. These are the best rain tire I've ever seen and have loads of grip.

i have my crx pretty much as low as it will go, and at the track i was running 205/50/15 Hoosier slicks and no rubbing they worked out fine.

i have an offset of +35
Would 205 fit??
I would get 205 if possible, cause i don't plan on driving that fast, mostly city driving.
I drove my 300ZX 5spd throughout the whole winter with summer tire, so i think i can survive in fwd car.
Thanx alot guys for your responses.
