Yo my power locks stopped working and I took it apart my door. Apparentlly no wires are cut. I took the Power Lock Control out and it is obviously a new replacement does anyone know how to test the continuity of it. Or anything else that I can test to try and get them to work. Any help by tonight would be appreciated.

 

what car is it? and is it factory doorlocks or aftermarket?

 

It's a 92 lx sedan and it's factory.

 

did you check with voltmeter? if not this is how you should do it;

1) with voltmeter choose one wire and attach positive probe to it and other to ground.

2) now push unlock button and see if it reads 0 volt or 12 volts

3) now put probe in other wire and push same unlock button. it should be opposite of other wire

4) now go back to other wire you first tested and push lock button and see if you get 0 or 12 volts

5) now do same thing in other wire and it should read opposite.

if you got the proper voltage readings then you wiring and fuses are fine it will be a defective motor which can be replaced by aftermarket actuactors which cost less than honda part.

if you didnt get these readings then wiring is bad and you might wanna check fuses. If your fuses are bad most likely controll unit under dash is bad which is basically factory controlled relays. good luck

 

I also have a similar problem im trying to solve. Stock locks 94 Civic SIR ...From outside using key, the locks open... try to close and they just pop right back up (confusing) obviously something is getting power bcuz of the locks constantly popping up and down by themselves.

From inside... drivers door handle is usless.... when you pull it... it just pulls....doesnt pop the door...any help would be appreciated.

Im searching for the power locks relay... cant find which one it is under the steering wheel in the fusebox....

Help plz.

 

do the same test procedure to see if your getting power when youre not supposed to. If you have an aftermarket alarm it may be wired wrong.
