Default Best sub-$1000 coilovers.

What're the best coils for the money right now including coil/strut combos, in your opinions, and why? Generally or more specifically for a 94-01 teg.

I really like the Ksport coilovers that are out and gaining popularity right now. I personally run them on my car and have ridden in and driven various other cars with them and all have good results.

Check with the sponsor in my sig

I've heard that from some of my auto-x friends, they swear by them, are they really better then any of the cheap full coils like the D2's or the Omni's? I know the Tein basics are crap.

This is the best deal:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1355904

Beats anything mentioned in this thread and has a bitchin' warranty.

i too am deciding this very question, i have always wanted koni/gcs but I have heard that you can not dump with them. A freind of mine has had lots of problems with the mbottoming out. He doesn't have the top mounts though for the front or the rear.

lol... "dump"

Then he's too low. Get your car to a reasonable ride height, problem solved.

My car - I cant go any lower than this or I just run out of shock travel, and this is with the GC upper mounts, bumpstops cut down to 1" and 800# front springs.

For 1,000. I'd get Buddy Clubs.

But I myself, might go with some Ksports.

Why? I've driven them on street and on the track and they're good, but the koni stuff is better. The warranty support/service/etc is great for koni as well - non existant for BC.

Koni dampers, GC coilovers, [GC tophats].

Best bang-for-buck setup ~$1000. And it will continue to be said over and over again. It has been proven as well with many Honda Challenge cars running this setup, as well as many champion autocrossers and well known HPDE'rs

This combo is very versatile, has extremely good customer support backup, and is easily serviced and spring length and rates can be chosen quite freely with the GC/ERS. You can also have the dampers be modified to SPSS race valving to cope with spring rates over 600in/lbs, as well as shortened shock bodies and seperate rebound/compression adjustment (double adjustability).

Wait let me get this straight, you'd buy buddy clubs, but you yourself might go with some Ksports? Are you schizophrenic?

I guess the original poster should quantify what "best" means to him.

Best quality = koni/gc
Best warranty/support = koni/gc
Best handling = koni/gc
Best bling factor = anything JDM that's green or purple
Best bang-for-buck = koni/gc
Cheap adjustible height coilover = Omni, D2, etc
Best showcar, slammed to the ground look = airbags

I was just looking for opinions, from experience. For myself I'd rather have something functional then pretty.

edit: just to clarify, I'm not in the market right now because I'm selling my CRX but I'm planning on getting a teg later later this year and coils are gonna be my first mod, so this thread wasn't meant to be too serious, I just wanted to hear what the susp. gurus thought.

its kind of a debate of functoin vs. astetics (sp.?). The konis/gcs are the best bang for buck and maybe in fact be among the best even at an infinite budget. They can't provide the best look though. So I guess it is up to the individual, looks , or feel.

Yea.

Buddy Clubs are a little out of my price range.
