duel pipes!!
Sup Honda bro's, I was thinking of running duels from the cat back. Just putting a splitter on and running another pipe/muffler. I have a 03 accord cpe 4cyl. the bumper has a cut-out of where the other muffler suppose to go. The V6 has the same bumper, I just have to remove the plastic piece they put there. If I do this will it effect the car in any way? I want some nice size mufflers that wont rust or sound real loud. Do they make a muffler like that. That has a deep tone or regular sound?
The ony thing it will probably do is make your car a little heavier and you will not see any hp gains but you should be able to find a muffler to your liking at any reputable shop. If it's just for show you probably don't care about performance anyways.
Sweet beavis and butthead pic
Those are my boys. Yeah, it's just for show pretty much. I live in a part of Georgia where speeding is out the question. Cops don't have anything better to do then wait on speeders. But anyway, how much heavier. I know the v6 has duels, but it has More horse power to. I didn't know if I should go with the factory muffler or go after market on both! I saw some of the chrome big mufflers on a 98 v6 accord. It had a deep tone but wasn't loud. That's probably what I'm looking for. If not that, then I will go factory on both and put the factory tips on them.

COOL!!! Know of any sites I could find different types of mufflers? I tried Nopi, they were talking $450 to $550 per muffler. I would be better off going to the dealer!!
Yeah, that's one of many hwy's I travel. I use I285 most of the time because I live on the south-side at the Henry/Clayton county boarder, and I work in Norcross...

and you know what i'd say about a dual exhaust on a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder family/economy car but yea....whatever floats your boat.

Well that's what I was asking. I have a 2door, so that eliminates the family car part, but I wasn't gonna do true duels, I was just going to add a splitter and another muffler, if the after markets cost is to much. By the way, the V6 has the duels standard, and the bumper on the 7th gen's are ready for it, you just have to remove the plastic piece on the driver side bumper. I just wanted to know if it's going to change anything as far as my emissions and stuff.... Here in ATL, they still have emission test
plus I don't want my car to be loud, but a nice deep tone will be cool

Just because your Accord has 2 doors doesnt mean it's not a family oriented car...the new 7th gen coupes are much sportier and I like them much more, but they're still Accords with the same engine. K24 has lots of potential though
I'm an advocate of function over form, so I dont go into the dual exhaust thing.
Your question, since you retain the stock catalytic convertor, and you're only altering the axle back portion, the change won't alter your emissions at all. It may alter sound levels, which may be illegal, but it doesnt affect emissions if you don't touch the cat.
If you want deep and moderately quiet, magnaflow and Apex'i world sport universal mufflers are the way to go.

if i am not mistaking, there is no such thing as a true dual on a 4 cylinder. there is a reason why the v-6 has dual exhaust. it has has 6 cylinders. it has 2 sets headers of 3 runners that run into one all the way back til it splits for the mufflers. vs the 4 cylinder has 4-2-1 or a 4-1 header back to the muffler. most peeps say that a duel 4 cylinder is ricey. only way i would understand seeing a dual exhuast on a four cylinder is if it was turboed and the down pipe is like a 3" or 4" and then splits down to smaller size or something along those lines before it gets to the mufflers. I am not turboed so i don't even know if that would benefit a turbo. but noticed i said this would be my understanding for dual, which is simply an opinion. i don't have facts to put forth unless someone can vouch for it.
Most cars aren't real dual exhausts, mostly Ybends either pre or postcat...if you look at setups such as the 350z or the V6 accord or Acura TL, it's a Y bend after the cat. There is a performance advantage to a real dual exhaust, but they're hard to find. FI dual exhaust is useful, take a look at SRT4, you're right about a dual Exhaust turbo 4 cyl.

What happens to the S2000? is it four banger, yes.
But again there's 1000WHP supra that only running single outlet.

I agree the first part, that's why almost all aftermarket exhaust would have a single outlet version for s2k, and all the guys on the track with aftermarket muffler get rid of the 2nd pipe when they upgraded.
orientation of the engine is easier if they have a side outlet but that wouldnt happen anytime soon

But you already said it, if all I'm doing is adding a (Y) and another muffler then I don't see where there's a problem. I thought maybe I should've gotten the V6, then I would already have the duel look I want, but I heard the 4cyl is a better motor. Buy the way, how much does these mufflers you were talking about cost?
I'm not disagreeing with you, just style and a y bend is what you're going to end up getting. I'm just saying i'd never do it because it hs no real purpose other than looks and adds weight. But you can do waht you want.
I'd suggest 5x8 ovals for the muffler. Oval mufflers do better with sound deadening from what i've experienced. Here's several options, under 150 apiece.

You'll be happy with either brand, they're both very good quality and sound

OH man if that is the same supra that i am thinking about that thing is freakin sick. haha and the single outlet is 5" all the way from the turbo.

yeah a s2000 is a 4 banger but it still doesn't run dual pipes which is from the header all the way back to the muffler. most v-6's or equalivant to a 4 banger s2000 have a y-pipe to make it dual. still not a true dual. take a v-8 that can run 2 sets of 4-1 headers to the cats then to the mufflers. now that TRUE dual. no y pipe involved.
Well I don't want to pay a **** load, but I don't want to go super cheap either. I was thinking along the lines of megaflow with a deep tone. I don't want to have to replace them because of rust or quick break down. On the 7th gen's, they have a cut out for another pipe, so I said why not. A muffler suppose to be there anyway..That would look alot better then having a piece of plastic filling in the hole!!
Cheaper you go, the more sacrifices are made to reach that price. Quality of materials and quality of craftmanship decrease along with the price, i'd stick with 2 magnaflows before i'd go for 2 cheap 40 dollar ebay mufflers.
