The K20's are great motors and have a lot of potential. But unfortunately the base K20A3 doesn't have as much potential as the type-s K20A2. Going all motor on the base probably isn't the best route to take if you're looking for serious power. You're going to have to boost it to see decent #'s from the base. Even at that, you're probably only going to be as fast as a mildly modified type-s. Personally, I wouldn't even spend the money to modify a base. Tell your friend to sell it and get the type-s and start modding it. He'll be glad he did.

Naturally Aspirated: RAZ Stage 2 cams w/necessary upgraded valvetrain, and all bolt-ons, w/ K100 and K-Pro. This route is cheaper, and so far has yielded 181whp hp on the test vehicle. I'm sure chunky can probably hit 190whp.

Turbocharged: Modfied Greddy Type S or EP3 kit, Cybernation Motorsports kit. This route is more expensive, but has more potential and gives you more power.
