Default MSD on a 1.6 sohc vtec

I was thinking of installing MSD into my ride, but I wanted to know something first.
would it make any difference if I have MSD on a 1.6 Sohc Vtec engine ?
Does it worth it?

i had extra money to waste and i got it at a discount so i got a red msd cap and the ss coil and it looks cool bc you can see the rotor spinning but the most i found was a slight increase in gas mileage, I do a lot of long highway drives and usually i would get 300 miles to a tank with my automatic, with the new coil and when i ***** it in the city or i go on my long highway drives i will get around 350 now. i don't notice any increase in power, but for my car i get a little better throttle response and it looks cool seeing how i only paid 50 bucks for the cap and coil. hope that helps ya

btw its on my d16y8

replacing the ignition system would help your gas mileage if your crap is old. The MSD might help in this area, but not actually increase power, becasue you are still getting the same amount of air and fuel into the chamber. That is where you get power. Slam more air, must compensate by adding more fuel. More potential energy equals more kenetic energy when combustion happens. Save for a huge turbo and when your SOHC gets a great turbo setup, then consider getting that MSD.
