Please help!!! ZC swap
Ok here is the deal, I have done a few of these swaps before, but I have never had this problem. Everything is hooked up and all the wiring is secure. The prob is, the motor starts and runs for about 2 seconds and then dies. I checked injector pulse and it only pulses for a second then stops. I replaced my injector box, and it still dies. I have check everything and cant figure it out.
could it be a main relay problem? ususally that would just not allow the car to turn on, but if its a bad relay it could keep it from running... just an idea
I did a compression check 175 in each hole. It's like my car is on a timer. It runs for a few seconds nice and strong, then it dies. when I spray carb cleaner in the intake it keeps running. But my fuel pressure is fine and my injectors are new. I cant understand

That is strange, but what codes are you getting?
Your fuel pressure is definately OK? For sure? because if the "ignition-2" wire is disconnected from the main relay, the main relay will prime your fuel pump (ignition-1 does that) but it wont be on when you start the car.
Probably not it though, thats very rare.
Give it gas? whta happens? still shuts off? MORE INFO
Stop saying it's the main relay Aaron.. it's not the main relay.. maybe wiring to it, but it's not the main relay itself..

Ok I am sure there is fuel pressure, and there are no codes. I have the crx si ecu. I also wanted to let you know that my alternator is not hooked up yet. I remember hearing that on old electronic ignition systems, if the alternator wasn't hooked up it would not run. I have been working on honda's for almost 7 years, and I can't figure this on out. Oh yeah and when I hit the gas pedal it dies faster. When I spray carb cleaner in the intake, it will keep running, until I stop spraying.

that sounds like a good place to check...

Definately try another ECU, i'm at a loss as to what sensor could cause a fuel cut that soon.
Glad you checked to see if it was pulsing. It's electrical/ECU related that's for sure. I'm just trying to figure out if a certain sensor could cause it to cut fuel after running for a few seconds.
Throw a battery charger on that battery, make sure it's not the culprit.
Alternator or no alternator, so long as the battery maintains 12v+ it should run.
A new battery has 400 Amp hours, more than enough to run a car for a few hours.
Does your main relay ever start clicking?
If yes, that means you're getting under 12v+, like 11.8v+ and it can only hold the switch open until the fuel pump primes. Then it loses some of that current, causing the switch to close... then the process repeats.
(Note: Thats not a bad main relay, that's what the main relay should do.)

you can use the 91-93 teg ecu on it. i have for alittle bit and it runs fine.
it could be your ecu tho.
make sure its not a automatic ecu tho. we tried one of those once and we got about a mile down the road and it shut off and then wouldnt start

the notorious main relay does this.
my sisters 92 integra just recently had this problem.
the car would start up and die after a few seconds. the fuel pump would pump, ECu comes on, but once the car started the car would die. and sometimes when she's lucky it would just start and run. its a vary unconsistant symptom.
i did some research online and everything pointed towards the mainrelay, got a new one at the dealership and stuck it in never had a problem again.
just try it! if that doesn't work at least you can check it off your EASY-TO-FIX list!
