Default Does the 96 Accord LX 4-Cyl (non-Vtech) have the F22B2 engine in it?

I am trying to determine what the engine I have in my 96 Accord LX is? It's the 4-cyl, (non-Vtech) manual trans. I am wanting to buy a set of NGK wires off Ebay and I found some at an unbeatable price but all he says is that it's for the 94-97 Accord with the F22B2 engine.

Are these the engines usually equipped with these model cars?

F22A1 is a non-Vtec, Single Overhead Cam 2.2 litre 4 cylinder.
Available in all DX, LX and SE (glorified LX) Accords for 1996

F22B1 is the Vtec SOHC 2.2 litre 4 cylinder
Available in the EX in 1996.

F22B2 is a non-Vtec, SOHC 2.2 Litre 4 cylinder.
Available in the Prelude S for 1996.

For 1997, things got rearranged a little

ok i dont think these people know what there talking about lol anyways yes the bone stock 1996 honda accord did have the f22b2 engine...while the f22b1 was the sohc vetec engine that came in your year (94-97) honda accord EX (the ex was the higest model with vtec incorperated into it) the difference between the two............the head you can do a simple hondata ecu upgrade and place the head right on there and run it

it did not come in the prelude now you are getting them mixed up yes the H series and F sries are indeed simalar but 1 key difference the H series is a DOHC

I have to agree, although in my own defense I was looking up this stuff at 11:40pm , Heres' how it goes: according (no pun intended) to:

http://www.bestautojobs.com/sh....html

F22B1 2.2L Vtec Accord '94-'97 EX
F22B2 2.2L Non-Vtec Accord '94-'97 DX, LX, Value Pack and SE
F22A1 2.2L Prelude S

A google search might stir up a whole 'bunch' 'o salvage yards which could supply you. I point this route b'cuz I haven't seen any listed in the normal JDM vendors.
Woodfins might be a place to look.

coincendently i am selling one...........idk how much tho i need the tranny so good luck on that one ill sell u the ecu and block tho name a price lets talk also if i sell u the head and ecu u can through it on ur f22b1 and make it an f22b2 since they are identical blocks (no oil squirters under piston) all u need is a head and ecu chip upgrade or stock ecu from an ex i might part with the head for maybe $950? this is ported poilished...hell if ur in the area ill put it in ur car, install ecu (including wiring), give u a chip if u buy one of my hondadt units for sale (instaled also) and tune it for ya for maybe 1500 dollars but u have to LIVE IN THE AREA!
