Just wondering but, don't you think the horse power is a little low.
I have the same motor with just an AEM Cold air intake and dc 4-2-1 headers. I've never ran a dyno on the car but it doesn't feel like I have that low of HP.
I can take an IS300 of the line and no problem.
I though stock was 142hp. dont know abot whp though.

yea but u probably lose about 15% through the drivetrain... so 125whp sounds about right... its the "torque" that makes you fast off the line...

What is the stock Compression ratio of an LS? 9.8:1? If so then thats right. You loose about 4% or so for each 1 compression you drop. Theres a bigger calculation to this but 4% is the rule of thumb. So it looks like you lost 2% or so from normal. That also looks like one healthy motor.

^^^ thanks man but it was 9.2stock i beleive, not positive (it's the USDM motor). The motor definatly feels healthy, it makes some weird noise when in high RPM but i think it's my DIY gasket match job . I am looking for a ls head right now actually to start building it and a new IM. Prolly blox or the jdmshit one

The stock compression of an LS is 9.2:1, they say the JDM one is slightly higher but bumping up the compression to 9.4:1 wont make a ***** worth of difference.

The reason the motor made the power it did was because of the mods already done to the car, and the fact that the motor has probably a little over 5k miles on it.

It may not feel like it, but you probably do have that low of HP. LS motors arent HP monsters, thats what boost on these motors is for.

This is jon we're talkin about, does he go anywhere without his camera?

I believe he has some on his computer, I think I saw one of your car, but I am not sure.

ok numbers for a b18b. I've seen stock (i/h/e) b18b's make 120 whp. You are making 7 more. Torque is avg for an LS motor too. Numbers are going to change dramatically under boost, not hating here. Just stating what I know/seen.

Rule of Thumb:
14.7 psi = 1.0 bar atmosperic pressure. This is what your b18b is under now and it is making 127 whp. That being said suppose you boost it to 14.7 psi, that would double the normal pressure that your normally aspirated motor is under, rendering double the horsepower. Look for roughly 254whp at 14.7psi. Nothing to scoff at. There's my 2 cents.

Wouldn't this vary depending on turbo size and trim? Not trying to be a dick, just curious.

I don't know if it's just the air down here, but a basically modded LS (I/H/E) will usually see around 125-130whp +/-, 112 seems a good bit low IMO.

112 is the torque he made

my friend just made 235whp on a gsr with 6psi with a 2inch dp and 2 1/4 exaust so i'm thinking that Ill be seeing better number than 245 with a fullrace kid

I've seen stock b16's at 10psi made 320whp with the stage 1 fullrace kit, the non GT kit

what i'm going for: http://www.full-race.com/catal...d=195

Yeah it varies a little. It is good to use as a rule of thumb though.
