Default Installed remote oil filter.

I installed my remote oil filter this weekend. At first there were some leaks. I tightened up the oil filter adapter on the block and all seem fine now. Pics to come.

if you were using AN or brass fittings you should have used either teflon paste or pink teflon tape, guaranteed no leaks.

Yes i used teflon paste. I was not leaking at the brass fittings i was leaking at the adapter that replaces the oil filter.

You need to go ahead and do the dry sump man. I'm interested in seeing how that works out.

Does the fitting go onto the old oil filter and then to the remote, leaving the stock oil cooler intact?

Well i sprung a leak on my remote oil filter and had to take it off. The damn cheap *** O ring they give you sucks. I will use the thicker ring that comes on the oil filter in it's place. When i'm up for another oil change i will take it off before tossing the old filter. It was a small but steady leak by the adapter on the block. Nothing mysterious. Just a pain in the ***. I don't need an oil cooler i don't think. The winters in Va are horrible and i don't auto x so i think it's unessecary for me. We will see. Oh yeah i was very easy to install not a problem. Took like 2-3 hours but i was in a shop and everything takes longer. Should take like an hour to install and check everything.

I have one on order but I was trying to figure where it would fit the best. Where did you place yours?

Some people move their battery to the truck. Which also helps weight balancing. Also Ive seen some remove their wiper fluid resevoir and pump and put it there. Then u need to carry windex. Also Ive seen mounted in the middle of the firewall. I have pics of the wiper fluid one

I moved my battery to the trunk and put the filter close to that area. The hoses were too short. Using the area for that and other things. I freed up a lot of space moving the battery.

I've never heard of an integra having a stock oil cooler... never... but i don't know everything either, and i don't own a gsr, so....

please post some pictures of the different locations. i'd be real interested in seeing it where the washer fluid goes since i had to take out the resevoir when i put in the intercooler piping... how hard would that be to access?

The B18C5 has an oil cooler stock for sure, it states it in the Type-R sales brochure, the cooler is between the oil filter and the block and it is cooled by cooleant passing around the oil, I will get a pic next time I am under my car.
