Default CA smog questions

I am trying to put together information I have dug up about trying to smog ref. a B16 CRX in Cali. As I understand it I need a USDM motor that is from a newer year of the same vehicle, with all associated smog gear. But, would this be legal?

JDM B16
USDM (del sol) intake/exhaust manifolds
USDM (del sol) smog gear and ECU
OBD0-OBD1 conversion

It seems this would be easier with the cable tranny and cheaper engine, but would the ref fail it because of the JDM block #?

Thanks...

You can put in a JDM motor as long as you put on many of the US parts, intake manifold, TB, ecu, to name a few plus convert to obd 1

Thanks guys, just the info I needed. I was glad to see I can use an aftermarket CARB legal IM.

Do you know which Ref you're going to?

I'm in San Diego as well, and I went to the one at Southwest College down in Chula Vista. The ref was really cool and helpful. If you have any questions, let me know!

No, I have not even started the project. My mini-me is buring oil, and is up for smog soon, so I am debating the options.

Also, would a d16z6 or y8 pass? They were in later civics, so I cannot see why not?
I figure I could get one of these pretty cheap.
