JB Weld
I took the bike out for a spin the other night and noticed that the rear suspension was making a lot of noise in the canyons so I took her home and found this to my horror.

I have another run to go on tomorrow night. Do you guys think JBWeld will hold it long enough for me to win a replacement on eBay?
TIA

as a professional welder i say use the hondabond, then weld the outside that way you have a soft damper in the middle to absorb the shock and the welds wont break

i have been doing repairs like this for years. you would be surprised how many custom applications i've done this way with and won many circuit races. it is unbelieveable how strong hondabond is, people say permatex grey is the same stuff but it isnt. stick with the original and use the hondabond weld technique. you'll thank me later for all the money i'll save you.

I'm special
I bought the bike and found that the shock was broken while doing a safety inspection before riding the bike. I took this picture while replacing the shock.
The kid I bought the bike from bought it himself in July. Based on the corrosion on the break, he must have riddend the bike like this unknowingly. I'm lucky enough to have friends with the skill and experience to spot something like this before I got into too much trouble.

Look at the shock.
Its covered in crap, its obviously stock and obviously old. What better excuse is there to upgrade to something better. I am stunned if anyone ever raced with anything that was repaired especially as I have seen first hand a pair of brand new WP forks fail out of the box.
You cannot take chances with your bones.

TTIWWOP...........jk
but a note to whoever is going to attempt the Hondabond repair, be damn sure that the hondabond comes from the motorcycle dealer and not the automotive, otherwise it will absolutely NOT work.

LOL
1 1/2 years ago a woman backed into my bike and cracked the left side case cover. I put JB weld on it and have driven it like that ever since. If it's not really broke I don't have to fix it right away.
But they make a good point about parts with alot of stress put on them. Could u try just JB weld only first and see how much it'll hold? Then try JB in center with a real weld around it next. Then use Hondabond. Hell it's already broke, will u do the hoonors of that experiment and give us the results?
