I am also trying to lower my 97 just like you I need some advice too, I am also thinking of going with some 19" rims, would those work well with my 97 or should i cut down to 18" or 17"?

Here's mine to give you an idea. 1.7 in the front, 1.5 in the back

And I wouldn't go any larger than 17's

about 1.5 will get you a nice aggressive stance without compromising to much of your ride quality. I personally woudn't go bigger than 18. 17's and 18's both look good and 17's will save you some money.

My 97 is lowered 1.5" and it is perfect as far as I am concerned. Any lower than that you will be scraping on stuff all the time.

I'm on Eibach Pro Kits and I've had stocks, 17s and 18s. I like the Pro Kits especially if you maybe considering a lip or lip kit.

I lowered my Accord 3 inches and it still rides fine...but you wanna go with big rims though so 1.5 inch drop would be nice with the right shocks.

With a 1.5 shocks aren't exactly neccessary. I lowered mine 1.5 on H&R springs staying with the stock shocks at the time and i have a pretty comfortable ride IMO and i have never had any major complaints either. I also have 17" rims on there as well and it looks very clean. anything bigger then 17 is kind of ridiculous IMO

B.S.

NO MATTER WHAT always put struts on your car when you lower it. It WILL RIDE LIKE **** if you don't. Not to mention the uneaven tire wear and the car will not handle like it should seeing that the factory struts were not designed to ride at a lowered stance.

If you disagree you are wrong.

ha ha ha just kid'n it rides like crap because of the 18 you can feel the road a lot i like it though ... and get some adjustable struts you will thank your self later

H&R race with KYB AGX. I say go at least 2 1/2 inches or there will be a big gap.

what wait a frigin min when i took the 15s that i had off, they were the same hight as the 18s just cuz the tire is about 1/2 the size on the 18s if not less. so wouldnt the tire gap be the same ?

getting bigger rims will not reduce fender and wheel gap...if u go for a bigger overall diameter it it will SLYTELY reduce fender gap but it'll also raise ur overall height of the vehicle...and for the original poster, wheel szie is really personal opinion and what u wunt...19s will fit..but i personally wudnt go any bigger then 17s...17s look just right on our accords...but i personally really like our 5th gens wit 15-16s
