Default What is the average horse power in a 1995 v-tec

I just changed out my motor in my 94 accord , With a 95 v-tec that has performance parts. The previous owner claims that it has 300HP in comparison to my 94's165HP , not to mention that my car is about a 1000 lbs. lighter than his. I have no reason not to believe him,but it's still a 2.2
Is there any one that could shed some light ?

If it's turbo'd then there's a definite possibility that it ahs 300 hp, if not, then that motor must be tuned OUT THE WAZOO with performance parts. to get 300 hp N/A out of an F22B1 is not an easy task. I would grab a list of EVERYTHING he did to it before he sold it to you and then post it and we'll see if it could possibly have 300 horse, but I seriously doubt it.

yah you're gonna have to give us alot more detail about the mods than "performance parts". for reference a 94-97 accord 2.2 liter vtec will net about 160HP tops with I/H/E (145 + 5 + 5 + 5)

maybe more with a high quality header and exhaust, but not much.

94-97 EX VTEC motors came stock with 145 hp. Adding intake, header and exhaust will not give you any more than a couple of extra bragging points.

It would be much more helpful if you would read us the engine code off the block.

The 5th gen accord weights near 3000lbs maybe 2700lbs at the lightest. as far as i know there was never a 95 vtec car weighting over 3500lbs.

Dfj240 is right unless your boosting your not gonna get close to 300hp

lx has a base weight of 2880 with auto or 2820 with a manual. If you have an EX you will come in around 3000 with V6 you are looking at 3200 for 5th gen.

Edit: you easily can get 165 out of an accord motor if you are willing to port, polish, and flow the cooling passages in the head. in addition to I H E.
