2006 Civic - Coupe VS. Sedan
Hello everyone,
I am purchasing a 2006 Civic later this week or early this week. I like both the Coupe and Sedan. I will be getting a LX. I am also leaning towards the automatic versus the 5-Speed manual.
Can anyone provide any insight on which vehicle and transmission choice you recommend and the reason why?
I just got rid of a 2004 Sebring LX convertible, it was getting 20 MPG or less. I do have a 4 year old son. I am really looking for a car that I can drive for at least 100,000 miles or more without any problems.
Thanks,
Paul

I recently bought the '06 FG1 EX. You can see it here:
https://honda-tech.com/gara...=4340
It's an auto. But I sure do miss my '04 EP3 Si's response when I press on the gas on the highway. This may have something to do with the drive-by-wire (and the fact that it's auto
)
It's a nice car with better gas mileage (30/40) than my Civic Si (26/31) and it takes regular.
I was waiting for the new '06 FG2 Si but I couldn't wait and I either had to pay $380 (30k maintenance) + $250 (car pmt) or just put that in addition towards my down on the new car.
I believe what swayed me to the lower-end EX was the auto tranny option (im getting clutch knee), better gas mileage, and it still uses regular unleaded.
I'm not really a sedan person, so it's more about personal taste.
I can tell you that my insurance went down $20/mo from the 2004 Civic Si to the 2006 Civic EX Coupe.
Make no mistake. I will miss my 2004 Civic Si

The automatic transmission for the 06 Civic actually has better epa mpg than the manual.
Also, the civic coupe gets a better sound system than the sedan.

I have a two and half year old, so I understand the kid thing. I dont have any trouble getting my son in and out of my ep3, but I dont have to do it very often. If he had to ride with me every day, I think I would opt for the four door just to make lie easier.
Hello,
I haven’t had time to go look for a Civic this week (my job is kicking my a$$). We had one analyst quite. Instead of hiring a replacement they just added his job responsibilities onto my self and my colleague. Well, it could always be worst; at least I have a job.
Thanks,
Paul

What kind of analyst are you? CFA?

I would get the Sedan... It looks better imo.. TSX look in the front and the BMW in the rear... Also alot easier since to get extra passengers in and out, since it's four door... now between the manual and auto? it's definitely a trade off.. It would be better to have both so we woulnt have to choose... here's an idea, would you prefer "fun" or "comfort"... I'll leave you at that..

I got the Sedan... and it's a little more roomy than the Coupe...
Mine is the EX with Navigation... and it's NICE.
