Looks good. Can you do the same when joining two pieces? Im not doubting you, just wondering if others have the same probs I do. I can run GORGEOUS aluminum beads on flat pieces, but when joining them, I get a good looking weld about 1 out of every 3 tries....

What kind of joint do you want pics of? I'll do one and take pics.

The machine was a Syncrowave 180SD.

I see some little specks in the weld. I get the same things once and a while. I was under the impression it's from inadaquate gas coverage. Rod is 4043 right?

Any experts feel free to chime in. I want that perfect shiny and smooth weld on my aluminum all the time.

Yup 4043 rod. I'm using a gas lens with a #8 cup with about 20cfh argon.

When I weld 6061 I use a 5356 rod looks cleaner. I hear the inverter based units weld really nice on aluminum. The center bead looks really good, the rest dont look bad just keep at it. When running the 5356 it seemed to need a little more heat.

Look good. Some of the beads look a little crowned. Slow down a little bit, and they will flatten right out.
