Busted Maintenance Required Light
2004 EX, 4 cylinder, 58,000 miles, dealer installed optional outside temperature.
Maintenance Required lamp came on at 10K after reset the last time.
Changed oil & filter etc.
Can not reset the maintenance required light!
Have tried all possibilites of odometer A, B, & outside temp before attempting reset.
Have attempted holding the odometer reset before inserting the key and after inserting the key but before turning to position II.
Notice that the maintenance required light does flash once during the attempted reset but then returns to steady on.
Notice the various other indicators going off after time then give up and release the odometer reset button after final lamp (orange engine outline) goes out.
I remember having trouble long ago then after reading the manual again and again I got it to reset. Manual says press odometer reset then turn key to position II while maintaining odometer reset until the maintenance required light goes out. That has worked in the past but does not seem to now.
Any ideas are accepted with gratitude.
Other stuff going on with the car is the backlight for the radio/hvac display went out so I can not see radio/cd/hvac status.
Thanks for your help.
