Default UK 1/4 times compared to US

I wanna get this straight. You guys in US have gotta have shorter 1/4 miles. I run 13.5 @ 104mph in my no rear interior EG hatch B20 high comp on street tires. Now over there i'm sure you guys have got better times with this set-up.
Before i ran 14.1 in same car but with B18C type R with spoon cams and you guys were telling me i should be in 13's.
I know a guy who imported a 'race spec' integra from US which runs mid 11's and over here the best they managed was low 13's!!! And the drivers were not ****.
Whats going on?

Redsun:
dont you think, they have better times because of real dragstrips with better grip (VHT etc)? Im nearly sure that you have been runing on airport or some king of track with medium grip without any "glue" on it.
Same thing here in Poland, we have worse times (RWD, FWD) than in US because of grip/tracksion.
But our AWD cars (EVO7, Impreza) make 9's.
