shouldnt the manufacturer get you a key from the vin number?

if not, hotwire it! Or get a new ignition

If he doesn't have the key he would have to break the window buy a new ignition after he hot wires it. The key is a few bucks, window and IG could total a couple hundred. Unless its not really his car and he's trying to steal it, JP.

Man that sucks... I had something completely different yet similar happen 2 me... I broke my key and my spare in the door locks.. I went to honda with my registration and they wanted another form of idea... But I got the key... Then all it took was my house key and some gum to extract the broken pieces... Never again... As for ur registration... As long as u don't have power windows it should be cake to get inside..@ least u didn't wake up in bed dressed in drag with a buttplug in ur *** and ur ex girlfriend standing there with a polaroid camera...coulda been 10 times worse

I always wondered about those Honda "Master keys". I know the locks on the older Hondas were pretty crappy. Do those work?

similar thing happened to me. i locked my only set of keys in my car (the other set was 400miles away). my registration was locked in the car, so i took my title and driver's lic. to my local honda dealer and had a key cut. just hope that the car has it's original locks on it (ie not re-keyed by a previous owner etc)

**edit**

3000th post! woo hoo

Your dealer is doing the wrong thing, Honda requires more than that. We need title/registration/ID and we make a copy and keep it on file. If someone steals a car with a key I cut, I get fired. So either give me that or find a locksmith.
