What kind of track? Generally that means a road course, but some people incorrectly use that term to refer to a dragstrip.
If you are looking for road course/autocross tires, it's hard to beat http://www.tirerack.com
Edit: and, if that's what you are looking for, the Hoosier R3S03 (roadrace) and A3S03 (autocross) are arguably the "best".
Hope that helps,
Jon

As with most racing questions, there's multiple answers. The "best" is a fairly vague question.
If you want to win, you need the tire with the most grip, get Hoosier road race compound.
If you're on a budget, you need tires that last the longest, get Toyo RA-1.
The new, very expensive Michelins are yet unproven.
