No Heat 88 CRX
I bought an 89 CRX Si last weekend, I brought it home and found out it doesn't blow heat. I've replaced the thermostat already and that didn't help. Even after driving my car home from work my bottom rad hose doesn't warm up if that's of any help.
Any idea what else it could be?

unless your car is overheating, you should expect the bottom radiator hose to be cooler than the top, just means the radiator is doing its job. if the radiator was clogged, then youd know very quickly by an overheating engine.
two things to check.
first the hoses going from the engine to the heater core through the firewall. look in the engine bay, locate the heater valve. make sure that is operating correctly, the valve moves and feel the fore and aft hoses for comparison. if the exit hose is cold, youve got a clogged core.
second is the air mixture flap. that is below the heater core which is right behind the center contol, on the bottom. crawl into the passenger footwell, poke your head under the heater core and look up. you should see a white plastic lever with a cable either attached to it or nearby. it should actuate long with the temp ****. that often times gets disconnected.
i would guess that its the second problem and no more than that.

I can't get my heat to work either I don't know what wrong. I can't seem to find the contols, and there are tumbleweeds under my dash.
I've checked the bay valve and it opens and closes when using the dial. Both hoses from the heater get warm and the car isn't heating up. I tried to find the switch or whatever under the dash, but I must be completely blind or something, I'll check again tomorrow after I get off work.
Thanks for the advice everyone.

stick your head behind the center console and look up. wrap your arm around and adjust the temp **** while looking, itll be obvious then since you should see moving parts.

uh, thats kinda hard to tell from the pic. i dont remember that being it. can you take a zoomed out pic and point to what that is showing?

i just looked, youre definately looking at the wrong thing.
just stick your head in the passenger foot well, look up and FORWARD towards the firewall. youll see the bottom of the heater core which probably has a white plastic cover, and then the cable arm shaped in a L. that is what you need to check.

k, well do I remove the white casing? I can't see anything along the lines of the arm either. I've got a stereo control thing right behind the glovey, which might be blocking it.
Sorry for seeming so dense, just I've never ran into any problems like this and I am not really too mechanical myself.

no, nothings in the way. you dont have to remove anything. just stick your head underneath , look towards the center of the car and toward the engine. youll see it under the heater core.
if youre looking at the back of the stereo, YOURE LOOKING THE WRONG WAY!
look toward the FRONT of the car.
