Default D-Series into da...Have a handle on everything but Axles. What to use???

I am putting a dx sohc into a da for temporary use.. I don't need to hear how I'm stupid for doing this, and how it's a disgrace to the integra...BLAH BLAH BLAH... This is Honda-TECH.com, Not honda- opinions and comments.com. That being said, I hope somebody here can help me out.

Heres the skinny,

I have a 92 da, putting a 95 dx sohc in it. have a 88' dseries dx trans bolted to the engine to make use of the cable clutch. need to know if ef dx axles are the ones to use in this setup... I know that when putting a bseries in an ef you use 90-93 integra axles, would it be the same going the other way. Let me know what you guys might know.. THANKS!!!!

-Doug

if possible use the zc intermediate shaft and it uses the b series axles you already have

I guess you should use the D series axles. My friend had a DX and the axles are asymetrical (one long one short) and from what I remember B series (LS) uses intermediate shaft and 2 symetrical axles, so go with what tranny you use.

well I started doing some more research... the outer axle splines on all integras except the jdm itr are 26 splines... same as all civics except for the EF std's which got smaller axles... so I'm assuming that any later d-series will work... for kicks I used the inner cup from my 95 dx' and it plugged into my "supposed" 88 ef trans... This would mean that axles from an eg would work in the DA...

Now my question is are there D-series applications where they used longer and shorter axles???? I have heard horror stories of b swaps with too short axles and they fall out of the TRANS!!! lol.

thanks for all the responses so far....

I have never compared the length of ef to eg axles, but one would think 90-93 axles in crx, 88-91 axles into DA. Should be same overall length. Is the engine completely bolted into the DA chassis? I was just wondering how all mounts work.

Just an update for ya... Engine is in, and the car is running. Driver's side and passenger side needed to be fabricated, rear mount just needed to be moved over to the other holes in the chassis and it just bolted in with the EF mounts. The front torque mount needs to be offset about 2 inches... all in all was really easy, and my car is already obd1 so that was easy. Look for pics soon...

how did you go about fabricating an axle? Or did you just mix and match different CV joints with a shaft ect?
