i think dry ice seems to be the most preferrable way to do it. get a big block of it, then break it up and spread it on the tar. i've heard of mixing it with some kind of alcohol solution (i think) to make it easier. you can then just bang on it lightly with whatever tool u can find and it will break into pieces. i also used a mini propane torch and just melted that stuff. i used a plastic putty knife to scrape the melted tar up. problem with this method is it is not the most efficient way as it leaves black tar residue that is a pain in the **** to get off. dry ice and cold weather

Get a fire extinguisher (or some tank) and have it filled with CO2. It freezes to
-110 degrees (probably Celsius). That should be enough. That's what a friend of mine did. Then just take a screwdriver and hammer and pound at it. He said it just comes off in sheets.
